The Fix I’m In
By H. Thomas Saylor
Accepting my lot in life
Recovering from love’s cruel knife
You cracked the door and drew me in
To play a game I could not win.
I try to forgive and let it go
But can’t shake regret
And you don’t care
You took me there
Wrote my one-way ticket
To the fix I’m in.
Your innocent smile, your deep blue eyes
They wrapped me in your web of lies
You asked for a little, then took a lot
And left me in this empty spot.
I try to forgive and let it go
But can’t shake regret
And you don’t care
You took me there
Wrote my one-way ticket
To the fix I’m in.
I walked right in, gave you my all
I took the trip, then took the fall.
I try to forgive my weakness
But can’t shake regret
And you don’t care
You took me there
Now there’s no way back
From the fix I’m in.
