My Silent Love Song

by H. Thomas Saylor

How can I share the depth of feeling?

What words describe what we have known?

So much to say of love unending,

Too much emotion for words alone.

I listen to the sweet love ballad.

I hear a voice and sing along,

A voice so powerful, so compelling,

I wish it mine to sing our song.

If I could only write the lyrics,

If I could only write the songs,

If only I could play the music

That is our love, a love so strong.

The music goes beyond our reason.

It touches us within our soul.

The music speaks, it knows no season.

To reach you so remains my goal.

The words, the lyrics, and the music

Tell love stories close to our own.

Still none can share all that I’m feeling,

A love unique, love fate has sown.

If I could only write the lyrics,

If I could only write the songs,

If only I could play the music

That is our love, a love so strong.

So what can I do to really show you?

What can I say to make it clear?

It’s in my kiss and when I touch you,

My silent love song, for you to hear.

Together we can write the lyrics.

Together we can sing the song.

Together we can play the music.

It is our love, a love so strong.
