My Heart’s Salvation

There was a day
When life was easy sailing

Horizon far, clear the way

Just pick a destination.

Inside my soul, I believed

A flame was burning

Igniting passion within
Until reality came my way

Lifeboat set adrift.

Look around and see what you have done to me

You will not believe the way life used to be, but now…
Maybe love requires sailing through the storm

To be lost at sea, so I can find the way to know my heart’s salvation.

I was blindsided

Never saw the clouds approaching

My soul divided

My anchor gone, left dying.

Thinking back I see
How blue skies camouflage

You were telling me

I wasn’t good enough for you
Love tried but never true.

Look around and see what you have done to me

You will not believe the way life used to be, but now…

Maybe love requires sailing through the storm

To be lost at sea, so I can find the way to claim my heart’s salvation.

Send up a distress
Let it light the sky
Before I’m lost forever…I’ll know better

Someone hear my cry.

Look around and see what you have done to me

You will not believe the way life used to be, but now…

Maybe love requires sailing through the storm
So I will know for sure, the love that is my heart’s salvation.
